Video/Image Enhancement

(See Samples Below) Factors such as a camera’s resolution, weather, lighting conditions and the compression standard used by the camera (or set by the operator) to reduce the file size can affect the quality of video and images making it difficult to assess activity captured. Image stabilization is another common issue. Many cameras such as camcorders, cell-phones and body worn cameras have limited stabilization capabilities. In fact, it’s not uncommon to see video from small covert cameras used by investigators suffer from extreme shake due in part to the operator and/or the covert camera having no internal stabilization feature. “Shaky” video can be very distracting to watch when so the viewer’s attention can be focused on the subject matter. We can enhance and stabilize video which can significantly improve the quality and usefulness of video. Results may vary.

For a better viewing experience view the sample videos on your desktop PC, or if your device allows hold your phone/device horizontally to watch larger size videos.

REDACTION

Redaction services may be needed for a variety of reasons, to include staying compliant. Areas of interest can be redacted/blurred (i.e., masked) to protect the identity of a witness or the privacy of a person. Redaction can also be used to obscure irrelevant persons or objects and isolate (i.e., spotlight) features in the video or image used for presentation purposes as further discussed below.

PRESENTATION

Sometimes video or images obtained from sources are captured from a significant distance away and the cameras don’t having zooming capabilities (or were not used) to focus on areas of interest contain additional items, such as numerous people or vehicles. While these items may help put the area interest into context, they can be distracting. We can help isolate areas to help viewers of evidence focus on what is important.
